JOHN DAY The Grant Union Prospectors will play 100 innings of baseball on Friday, March 30, as a fund-raiser for the program.

The event, which begins at 12:45 p.m. at Malone Field, will help pay expenses including maintenance of the baseball fields.

The event was started by now-retired coach Art Thunell, and coach Brian Delaney decided to revive it.

Members of the Prospector team will ask community members, family and friends for donations for each inning they play. A sponsorship of $1 per inning would be a donation to the program of $100, Delaney noted.
