To the Editor:
The Oregon State Snowmobile Association has two snowcats in Grant County for the Grant County Snowballers to use for grooming snowmobile trails, and search and rescue. We are equipped to pull a stock trailer on large skis to rescue cattle stranded in various places in Grant County.
This year, we were able to retrieve the cattle stranded in Flag Prairie. This was done by several snowcat operators of the Snowballers. Their time and trucks are all donated, and all fuel expense was paid by a local business.
Sheriff Glenn Palmer did a great job coordinating the rescue to save the cows that were left out in Flag Prairie. The Snowballers and Oregon State Snowmobile Association were glad we were here to help.
