JOHN DAY Overdue library books and videos could be your ticket to a gift at the Grant County Library.

Librarian Vicki Waters said people who turn in the overdue items can skip the usual fine and enter their names in a drawing jar. The winner will be picked June 9.

Waters said the library needs to clear up its backlog of overdue items, and spring cleaning season seemed to be a good time to do it. The more books and movies a patron finds, the more chances theyll have for the gift, she said.
