JOHN DAY Long Creek High School golfers Jeffrey Parolini and Nechoma Ruffing did well at the Grant Union Invitational, held March 23, at the John Day Golf Course.

Parolini shot a 138, and Ruffing, a foreign student from Germany, tallied 101.

Im happy with the way the boys did, said coach Patch Freeman. This was Nechomas first match. He shot 55-46, a really good back side.

Freeman said, It was a good day.

While the two boys golfed at John Day, other golfers on the Long Creek team enjoyed a learning day at South Fork Golf Course in Dayville.

Freeman plans to take the entire Mountaineers team to compete at Echo next Friday, April 6.
