PRAIRIE CITY The community is welcome to an open house for the new Prairie City Ranger District office at 327 S.W. Front St., noon-3 p.m. Thursday, April 5.

There will be refreshments, displays and an opportunity to talk with the staff.

The 9,100-square-foot building, which opened in January, replaces outdated and unsafe structures that dated back to 1958. The new building is equipped with energy efficient materials and equipment, including a solar water heater system.
