The Tigers aim to be at their prime on May 11 for the 1A district competition, the qualifying meet for state.
Thats what were aiming at. Were right about where we want to be, said coach Skip Inscore. He said the first meet, last Fridays Condon Invitational, was a good start.
At Condon, the girls took seventh of 10 teams overall, while the boys tied for eighth of 10.

The athletes took a conservative approach to minimize risk of injury, with the throwers not taking full run-ups in their events.
We might have been able to go a little bit further, but didnt want to injure anyone. We talked about not getting expectations too high, but to do the best you can, Inscore said.
For the girls, sophomore Alix Perkins took third place in the 1,500 meters, while sophomore Renee Inscore took fourth place in the 200 meters, fourth place in the javelin, and seventh place in the 100 meters.
In his senior season, Justin Larson took first place in the javelin, and fourth in the 100 meters, 200 meters and the discus.
Senior Josh Chapman pole vaulted to a fifth-place finish. He took 11th in the boys javelin.
Colten Winters, a sophomore, ran to 10th place in the 100 meters, and threw the discus and javelin each for the 17th spot.
The team traveled to the Grant Union Invitational in John Day on Tuesday, April 10, with results past presstime.
As of Monday, no decision had been made on the second meet for this week. Inscore said the Tigers will compete either at Vale on Friday, April 13, or at Burns on Saturday, April 14.
