JOHN DAY Sunny weather prompted several John Day Community Garden workers to roll up their sleeves last Saturday, April 14, for the gardens opening day.

Shelley Banks, committee chairman for the garden noted that 18 people have signed up for plots, located east of the county fairgrounds in John Day. A section of the garden is reserved for potatoes and squash to be donated to the Grant County Food Bank.
