Play poker on horseback

DAYVILLE The entire family is welcome to join in a Pre-Mothers Day Horseback Poker Ride on Saturday, May 12, in the Flat Creek Area, five miles east of Dayville.

The event is hosted by the Grant County Chapter of Oregon Equestrian Trails as a fund-raiser to go toward improvements at trailheads and horse camps on the Malheur National Forest.
The rider with the top poker hand will win a $75 cash prize.
The cost is $5 per hand or $20 for five hands.

The event is on a marked route of about three miles.
Registration is at 10:30 a.m., with the first rider out at 11 a.m. The last rider will go out at 1 p.m. Prizes for all ages will be awarded at 3 p.m.
Adults must accompany children under the age of 16. No dogs or stallions are permitted. Horseshoes arent necessary.
This is an equestrian-only event, although adults may lead young children on horses.
For children age 10 and under, a childrens Treasure Quest will also take place, with chances $2 each.
The event will be held at Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlifes Flat Creek area (at milepost 136), which is 18 miles west of Mt. Vernon (1 mile past the Long Box), or 5 miles east of Dayville. Signs will be posted. There is ample parking and easy turn-around.
