MONUMENT A seminar on juniper management and control is coming up from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Monument Senior Center.

The program will feature Jon Bates, a rangeland ecologist from the Agricultural Research Service in Burns, who will discuss the historic range and expansion of juniper, and control measures.

Lorraine Vogt of Natural Resource Conservation Service will discuss that agencys programs to assist landowners.

The program is sponsored by the Monument Soil and Water Conservation District and the North Fork John Day Watershed Council.
