Humbolt Elementary fifth-graders had a splash of a day May 10 as they helped the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stock Trafton Pond at the Seventh Street Complex. The students, in Georgia Boethin and Mary Neal’s classes, each had a turn releasing a net full of fish with help from ODFW assistant fish biologist Brent Smith. About 1,000 fish which came from the hatchery in Irrigon were added (slideshow below).
