Gladys Elizabeth (Somers) Ervin

BOISE, Idaho Gladys Elizabeth (Somers) Ervin, 64, died May 20 in a Boise, Idaho, hospital, from complications of kidney disease. Graveside services were held Friday, May 25, at Prairie City Cemetery, with a luncheon following at Strawberry Grange.

Mrs. Ervin was born Aug. 14, 1947, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Donald and Clara (Galbraith) Somers. In 1965 she graduated from Kimberly High School. She attended one year at Boise Junior College, and graduated from Treasure Valley Community College as a licensed practical nurse.

For 20 years, she had a nursing career, and then teamed up with her second husband, Kipp, to long haul truck. While driving truck, her greatest thrill was seeing the Statue of Liberty.

She moved to Prairie City in 1988 where she lived until her death. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her sister-in-law Mary Radford. She was also active at her church, Grace Chapel Evangelical Methodist in Prairie City.

Survivors include her two sons, Duane Morton and Carl Morton; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Renee Horton and Martha Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Kipp Ervin; and her parents.
