As of Tuesday morning the fire was at 95 percent containment, covering 6,481 acres, equal to 10.13 square miles.
Malheur National Forest spokeswoman Pattie Hammett said they estimate full containment by Sept. 12.
Jeff Shinn, acting forest ranger, said the fire is considered human caused and remains under investigation. He said it has not been determined whether the fire was caused by arson, however, he said investigators have pinpointed the origin of the fire.

Command of the fire was transferred late last week to the local Type 3 Team, with Brandon Culley of John Day assigned as the incident commander.
There were 112 people assigned to the fire who were mostly local contractors and local agency firefighters.
A Burned Area Emergency Rehab (BAER) team was scheduled to look at the fire area to determine needed restoration activities, however, if the wind picks up, the team may hold off due to the possibility of more snags in the area.
We do still have an area closure in effect and will look at modifying it as conditions change and it becomes safer to get into the area, Hammett said.
Elsewhere in the region, fire crews continued to battle two other large fires.
The Pole Creek Fire, burning six miles southwest of Sisters, was at 4,300 acres and crews were working to establish lines on portions of the fire. Officials expected windy conditions to challenge firefighters.
The fire started Sept. 9, and the cause remains under investigation, officials said.
The Cache Creek Fire, northeast of Enterprise, was 90 percent contained after burning through 73,697 acres. The fire was sparked by lightning Aug. 20.
