Malheur Forest holding job fairs for summer work

JOHN DAY Malheur National Forest will hold job fairs in both John Day and Burns to fill temporary positions anticipated this coming summer.

The John Day fair will be from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the federal building at 431 Patterson Bridge Road. For information, call Sherri Preston-McGuire at 541-575-3310 or Cindy Lemcke at WorkSource Oregon in Canyon City, 541-575-0744.

The fair in Burns will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Burns High School, 1100 Oregon Avenue. Contact Terri Hellbusch at 541-573-4342 for more information.

Forest Service specialists will be at both locations to answer questions about the positions and the application process, and provide information on upcoming vacancy announcements.

The added positions are the result of the Accelerated Restoration Program related to forest health that MNF is implementing.
