Donna Lee Kimberling

Donna Lee Kimberling, 83, of Prairie City, died Jan. 31, at Blue Mountain Hospital, following a bout of pneumonia. She had been a resident of Blue Mountain Nursing Home since Dec. 14, 2010.

Private cremation burial will be at Prairie City Cemetery. At her direction, no services will be held.

Mrs. Kimberling was born April 13, 1929, in Kimberly, to Lee and Louisa Fleming. Her grandfather came to the United States from Portugal when he was 16 years old.

She was raised in Kimberly, and attended school in Monument.

She attended a year of college at Oregon State University, where she met Bob Kimberling. They married in 1948, and had two sons, Jim and Kim.

After 32 years, they sold their ranch and moved across the river where they lived for another 32 years. She loved her flowers and landscaping, and was a longtime member of the local garden club.

Over the years, she frequently sent a variety of greeting cards to many friends and relatives.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Kimberling of Prairie City; son, Kim Kimberling of Prairie City; sister, Clinta Mellor of College Place, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Laurie Kimberling of Vale; granddaughters, Katie Perez and Heidi Ellis; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Blue Mountain Nursing Home, through Driskill Memorial Chapel, 241 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day, OR 97845.
