Dennis Wayne Smith, 58, died Dec. 19 in Toledo.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 22, 1954, in Prineville, to Howard and Ruby Smith.

He lived in Grant County most of his life. A logger since age 17, he was most at home in the woods. He became logging partners with his son, Jake, in 2003. He enjoyed playing sports with his grandkids, walks on the beach, shooting guns and driving.

Survivors include his sons, Gabe Smith of Mill City and Jake Smith of Toledo; daughter, Amanda Harris of Toledo; and several grandchildren.
