Jean Samudio

ALBANY Jean Samudio, 85, formerly of Canyon City, died June 12 in Albany. At the familys request, no services are planned.

Mrs. Samudio was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Canyon City, to Whitman and Mary (Clark) Finlayson. She was raised in Grant County.

In 1952, she married her husband, Rudy, in Nevada.

She was active in Eastern Star and the Elks Lodge. She liked reading, needlepoint and bingo. She was proud of her children, and enjoyed attending her grandchildrens athletic events and activities.

After she retired as the librarian at Pacific High School in Port Orford, she moved to Albany to be closer to her grandchildren. She volunteered in elementary classrooms and at the Albany Library.

Survivors include her daughters, Gina (Monte) Ayers of Albany and Margo Meredith of Nevada City, Calif.; sons, Jim (Elizabeth) Samudio of Ft. Worth, Texas, John (Lois) Samudio of Crabtree and Kim Samudio of Klamath Falls; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, this past April.
