Festive Fourth on tap in Grant County

From dawn to dusk on Independence Day, celebrations will be plentiful in several Grant County communities.
Heres a roundup of activities planned for the Fourth of July:
Dayville Proud of the Past, Looking to the Future
10:30 a.m. Parade, with Grand Marshals Mike and Apryl Blair
11 a.m. Horseshoe Tournament, City Park
Noon Baked goods auction, City Park
12:30 p.m. Golf Tournament, South Fork Golf Course
1 p.m. Duck race, City Park
1:30 p.m. Scavenger Hunt, Community Hall
2:30 p.m. Battle of Gettysburg 150th Anniversary presentation, Presbyterian Church
On Saturday, July 6, there will be a fishing derby for children, from 9 a.m.-noon at Prairie Springs Fish Farm.

9:30 a.m. Firecracker 5K Walk and Run, City Hall
Noon Parade, with Grand Marshal Jimmy Lunzman
1 p.m. Fay Burrill Memorial Jackpot Horseshoe Tournament; tug-of-war; childrens games.
2:30 p.m. Duck races
4 p.m. Music in Prairie City Park by Jimmy Lloyd Ray and the Switchmasters.
4-5 p.m. Cowpie Caper bingo game.
Dusk Fireworks at the Oxbow Ranch
And throughout the day at all the celebrations, there will be plenty of food to keep everyone well fed between and during events.
