John Day dispatch worked 125 calls during the week of Nov. 24-Dec. 1. Along with the various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included:
John Day Police:
Nov. 26: Report of shots fired near El Cocinero restaurant.
John Day Fire Department:
Nov. 30: Report of a chimney fire on Northwest 3rd Avenue.
Grant County Sheriff:
Nov. 27: Grass fire reported on Highway 26 at Fields Creek Road.
Nov. 28: Report of a dog poisoning in Mt. Vernon.
Nov. 29: Cited a John Day man for driving while suspended, and failure to carry registration and show proof of insurance.
Nov. 30: Arrested a Sandpoint, Idaho, man on a Douglas County warrant, DUII-alcohol and possession of a controlled substance; arrested a Mt. Vernon man for probation violation.
John Day ambulance:
Nov. 25: 71-year-old man with stroke symptoms.
Nov. 26: 86-year old woman with breathing problems.
Prairie City Fire Department:
Nov. 27: Investigated reports of a forest fire on Dixie Mountain.
Seneca ambulance:
Nov. 29: Paged for a woman who was dizzy and having difficulty walking.
Justice Court
CANYON CITY The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:
Violation of the basic rule: Andrea Dunlap, 24, Burns, 79/55 zone, fined $260; Timothy J. Anderson, 59, Prineville, 70/55 zone, fined $160; Patricia A. Gould, 62, Edmonds, Wash., 78/55 zone, fined $260.
No or invalid ODOT weight receipt: Michael Rayq Plumondore, 55, Boring, 68/55 zone, fined $217.50.
Connor Broemeling, John Day, convicted of minor-in-possession of alcohol, and fined $260.
