JOHN DAY Local contractors and the public are invited to an informational meeting about changes in Grant Countys building official and inspection program.

The meeting is set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Grant County Regional Airport conference room.

Grant County this week switched to contracting with the Oregon State Building Code Division for its building official, plan reviews and inspection services. Permits are issued by the county planning department, and fees are unchanged.

The county formerly contracted with Mid-Columbia Building Code Services, but that agency stopped service to the county at the end of November.

At the meeting, contractors will be able to meet the building official and inspectors and learn about the scheduling of inspections and other matters.
