PRAIRIE CITY Assembly of God Church in Prairie City offers two free services to the community that everyone can use food and clothes.
The churchs Shepherds Closet, with free clothing for all ages, is open every Wednesday during daylight hours. Karla Teague, whose husband Lee is the pastor, said there are no questions asked and no need to call ahead. She said the back door from the alley is open during that time, and coffee is usually provided too.
And from 5-7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month, the church serves up a free community dinner. Shepherds Closet is also open during that time.
Right now, Teague said there is a good supply of winter coats for all ages, as well as other apparel, shoes, purses and a few blankets. Clothing donations are welcome, and can be left by the back door.
The Teagues moved back to the area in September for their third time leading the Prairie City Assembly of God flock.
