- <p>Emergency crews responded to a log truck rollover east of Prairie City, near the Covered Wagon Wayside, on Dec. 18. The driver, Wayne M. Ellis, 45, of Nampa, Idaho, was transported to Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Oregon State Police said the westbound truck was going into a curve when it swerved to avoid another vehicle that cut it off when passing, and the log load shifted. The truck ran off the road and tipped over, landing on its passenger side.</p><p> </p>

Oregon State Police
At about 8:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, Oregon State Police responded to a commercial semi truck crash on Highway 395 near Vance Creek Road. The driver, Allen Odell Cowley, 32, lost control on the icy road, while negotiating a curve.
At 10:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, OSP arrested Kenneth Taylor III on an outstanding Grant County felony warrant for possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged in Grant County Jail.

Dec. 26: Arrested a John Day man on a Baker County warrant.
Dec. 29: Received information about vandalism at John Day City Park.
