Grant Union hoops draw stars for the night

JOHN DAY Basketball enthusiasts had some fun on the Grant Union Junior-Senior High School court last weekend, participating in the All-Star Saturday Night fund-raiser.
Hosted by the Grant Union Prospector boys basketball team, the Dec. 28 event raised money for the American Diabetes Association and included a dribbling obstacle course, shooting contest and small teams games.
We wanted to do something fun for the boys that would be good for community involvement and raise money for a good cause, said head coach Steve Speth.
He said they plan to make it an annual event and would like to include other Grant County teams next year.
