Medford, Ore. — A 5 year-old boy is still in “stable” condition as of Monday afternoon after he was accidentally shot in his abdomen.

Medford Police say the incident happened Saturday morning.

They say the 5 year-old had gotten a hold of his father’s black powder pistol from a cabinet in the front room.

The boy’s sister tried to take it away from him and the gun discharged, injuring the boy.

The boy’s father, Brian Green was arrested for being a felon in possession of a weapon.
