Alturas, Cali. — An Alturas woman pled ‘not guilty’ this morning to charges including 4 counts of murder.

44 year-old Cherie Rhoades is accused of going on a shooting rampage at a tribal office on February 20th.

The four dead include Rhoade’s brother, niece, and nephew, as well as a tribal staff member.

Rhoades is also charged with shooting and seriously injuring Melissa and Monica Davis.

Modoc County District Attorney Jordan Funk says that he hasn’t ruled out pursuing the death penalty in the case.
