Greater Eastern Oregon Development Corp. is planning a series of meetings throughout the region to discuss its new five-year planning effort, scheduled for 2014.

The schedule includes two meetings in Grant and Harney counties: on April 2 at the Burns Chamber of Commerce in Burns, and April 3 at the Outpost Restaurant in John Day. Both sessions are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The community outreach meetings are a preliminary step in an eight-month planning process that looks at ways to bring together citizens, business, governments and community groups to address economic development needs and strategies.
