A flood watch is in effect for Grant County and other parts of Eastern Oregon from 4 p.m. today through 10 a.m. Friday.
Heavy rains combined with snowmelt from warmer temperatures could push streams and creeks over their banks, the National Weather Service reported.
The agency issued the flood watch for large areas of the Blue Mountains and also for communities throughout the John Day Valley and highlands of Grant County.
The forecast calls for rain and possibly thunderstorms through Thursday.
