The Oregon State athletic department has received a $2 million anonymous donation to complete the second phase of the Whyte Track and Field Center.

The money will be used to complete the construction of the grandstands, a press box, hammer throw area, scoreboard, main entry plaza and other amenities.

The donation came from an anonymous benefactor who only recently became acquainted with the Oregon State track and field program.

It was the donor’s intention to “encourage others to do whatever they can to help in the completion of the Whyte Track and Field Centers so that the vision of total track and field program and the opportunities it will bring will become a reality.”
