Grants Pass, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s office says 36-year old Grants Pass resident Jack Porter assaulted his 74-year old neighbor Thursday with a crowbar.

Investigators say the attack was unprovoked. They believe drugs and alcohol are involved.

The victim, Ronald Franchi, is being treated for life-threatening injuries at RRMC.

Porter is charged with Attempted Murder and Assault. Bail is set at $2,000,000.
