DES MOINES, Wash. – Mark Cooley, 55, died April 9 in Des Moines, Wash., with his family by his side. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Des Moines Beach Park Auditorium, 22030 Cliff Ave. S., in Des Moines.

Mr. Cooley was born April 10, 1958, in Portland. He grew up in Butteville on the Willamette River, and graduated from North Marion High School. He wrestled on the high school team, rode motorcycles and water skied. He attended Long Beach State University, where he was a member of one of the first collegiate water ski teams.

He was fun loving, caring, loyal and hard working. He lived for music and the outdoors. He was an adventurer who enjoyed discovering new places to go boating, fishing, hiking and camping. Spending time with family and friends was a favorite pastime.

An entrepreneur, he owned a business in Ketchikan, Alaska, in the early 1980s, where he met his future wife, Brenda. They relocated to Central Oregon, and opened Cascade Satellite, an RV park in Culver and Strawberry Mountain RV Park in Prairie City.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Brenda (Ness) Cooley; daughters, Katelyn and Madelyn; son, Curtiss; parents, Curt and Judy Cooley, sisters, Lisa (Pat) Bizon, Jill (Paul) Kahle and Annemarie Davis; and many cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends, who were influenced by his friendship and silly sense of humor.

Arrangements are under the care of Klontz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 410 Auburn Way N., Auburn, WA 98002.
