Lenora and Jim Thomason of Canyon City are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

The Thomasons were married July 11, 1954, in Yakima, Wash. They have lived in the John Day Valley since that time, and in Canyon City since 1978.

They have two children, a daughter, Deborah, and a son, Jerry, who is a retired sergeant first-class from the U.S. Army. They have two grandchildren, Jeremy and Jason, and two great-grandchildren.

Jim, who turns 82 next month, has operated Jim’s Antique Shop in Canyon City since 1972.
