CANYON CITY – The Grant County Court has named seven residents to a new committee that will consider access issues on the public lands in the county.

Named to one-year terms were John Bastian, Billie Jo George and Jim Sproul; two-year terms, Tom McHatton and Bruce Ward; and three-year terms, Judy Kerr and Mark Pengelly.

The Court received eight applicants they determined to be qualified by the deadline. County Judge Scott Myers picked names out of a hat to narrow it to the seven slots available.
