To the Editor:

The Grant County Democrats had the opportunity of being election protection monitors Nov. 4.  It was a pleasure for our team to be coached by our very ethical county clerk, Brenda Percy. We observed every part of the vote by mail process, from matching signatures on the incoming envelopes to running the inspected ballots through the computer, which quickly tallies all votes.

We are satisfied that every effort was made to respect every individual’s ballot. We are grateful for the respect shown us as observers, and appreciate Brenda, Julie, and the election board, as well as our fellow Democrats for giving the time it took to do the job.
