Eight incidents included an injury accident when a vehicle rolled into Laycock Creek with a mother and child in the Mt. Vernon area, a hunter sliding into a backhoe in Seneca, and a vehicle slide-off into Rock Creek near milepost 97 on Highway 26 near the Grant and Wheeler county line.

There was also a rollover into Canyon Creek off Highway 395, and a two-vehicle accident near the corner of Main Street and Canyon Boulevard in John Day in addition to other minor incidents.

McKinley said local tow trucks were busy, and it was the first time he remembered people needing to wait for a tow.
