JOHN DAY – Dressing up for a Saturday night on the town in Grant County usually means pulling out your best pair of blue jeans.
That was the attire for the “Denim and Diamonds” theme at the 2015 Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation annual meeting, dinner and auction on Oct. 24.
Trowbridge Pavilion at the Grant County Fairgrounds dazzled with denim decor mixed with sparkling lights and diamonds.
The evening included a dinner catered by the Snaffle Bit with a menu of New York strip, baked potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert, games, auctions and drawings.
Blue Mountain Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Randall Mee offered a presentation with updates on current and recent hospital news, and expressed appreciation to the community and people in Grant County for what they’ve done for the hospital.
According to Mee, the event raised $19,500, which will go toward a new Omnicell automated medication dispensing system, which Mee said will help ensure improved medication accuracy for patients.
Funds will also go toward the purchase of two new pieces of equipment: a fetal monitor and an epidural pump.
Mee gave kudos to Foundation director Judy Krutsinger and her husband Ansel for the “phenomenal job” they did organizing the dinner and auction.
“They deserve recognition for their tremendous efforts over the years for the hospital and foundation,” he said.
