Noble Hicks

Noble Hicks, 82, of Prairie City died Nov. 23 at this home surrounded by family. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Grace Chapel in Prairie City. Interment will follow at the Prairie City Cemetery and a potluck reception at the Strawberry Grange Hall in Prairie City.

Mr. Hicks was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Ava, Mo., to Sophus and Maggie Hicks.

On Sept. 2, 1952, he married Julia Ileta White in Vale. He worked as a millwright for San Juan, Hudspeth and Prairie Wood until he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Ileta Hicks, of Prairie City; sons, Larry (Eva) Hicks of Green Creek, Idaho, and Dean (Barbara) Hicks of Prairie City; daughter Joyce (Mike) Cearns of Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
