Students from Eastern Oregon University's music department present a jazz band and choir number for students on April 18 at Grant Union Junior-Senior High School. They also held a concert at the school for the community April 17.

JOHN DAY — An appreciative Grant County audience tapped their toes to the beat as students of the Eastern Oregon University music department presented concerts on April 17 and 18 at Grant Union Junior-Senior High School.

Three of EOU’s student groups combined for the performances, including the chamber choir, African drumming and the 45th Parallel Ensemble, which uses a mixture of world, jazz, rock, popular and folk for a unique style of music.

Grant Union music students also enjoyed workshops.

The Juniper Arts Council sponsored the concert.
