Brock outruns East Linn, extends GU’s lead in 2A state track

Grant Union senior Samantha Brock did her part for the girls team currently in first place at the State Track and Field Championships in Eugene Friday.
Brock placed second in the 2A 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.55, earning 8 points for the team. She was just behind Monroe’s Kyndal Martin, who finished in 16.15.
Brock outpaced the runner from East Linn Christian, which is in second place behind GU. East Linn’s Kari Schurr placed fourth with a time of 17.58, earning 5 points for the team.
With 12 events scored as of 6:30 p.m. Friday, the Grant Union girls team is in the lead with 73 points, followed by East Linn with 55 and Union with 37.
