The John Day Department of Motor Vehicles office will change its mid-day closure time by half an hour to make it more accessible for customers during their own lunch breaks.

Beginning Nov. 1, the DMV will close from 12:30-2 p.m., instead of noon to 1:30 p.m. The office at 193 N. Canyon Blvd. is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, except for the lunch closure, according to a DMV press release.

The change in hours is based on input from the community.

This office may also close at other times temporarily when weather, DMV business needs, training or illness requires the limited staff to be away from the office.
