Guests enjoy dinner on the lodge deck at Silvies Valley Ranch.

Over 20 Grant County community leaders enjoyed a first peek at the property located about five miles south of Seneca.

Tygh Campbell led the group in golf carts for a tour of the grounds, sharing the progress and plans laid out for the resort.

He explained the work that went into creating golf courses, including the Egan Course, Craddock and Hankins reversible championship 18-hole courses and the seven-hole ridge course and mountain meadow nine-hole par 3 course.

Visitors walked inside the off-grid Chief Egan Hideout, a clubhouse powered by solar energy, where Tygh answered questions.

A spa, complete with a lap pool, workout area, climbing wall and a place for massages and facials, is planned for next year.

The tour included the reception area and gift shop, which has horse stables nearby, and the luxury apartments and cabins, which overlook a pond. There are a total of 36 rooms.

A dinner, held at the lodge deck, included “mile-high” hamburgers and apple crisp for dessert.

The Campbells said they hope to attract world travelers to the ranch, and the resort is open to Grant and Harney county residents as well, with discounted prices for golfing and the restaurant.

So far, there are 93 people employed at Silvies Ranch with 140-160 jobs expected by 2020.
