A Mt. Vernon man pleaded guilty to assaulting his infant daughter Thursday.
Dillon Myers, 20, Mt. Vernon, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault in Grant County Circuit Court.
The charges stem from separate incidents between May 15 and June 3, where Myers unlawfully and intentionally caused injury to his infant daughter.
The child had bite marks, bruises and scratches, according to Court Appointed Special Advocates Executive Director Tracey Blood.
“This is serious,” Blood said. “These are not minimal injuries.”
Myers was granted supervised visits with the child at the discretion of the Department of Human Services and was ordered to have no contact with the child’s mother.
His sentencing hearing is set for July 26.
