Prospectors shutout Central Linn to move to quarterfinals

The Grant Union Prospector football team shutout the Central Linn Cobras Saturday to move on to the quarterfinals of the 2A state tournament.
The fourth-ranked Prospectors won the game 52-0 at home in John Day. The team is now 8-1, its only loss coming to 3A Burns.
Grant Union will play the fifth-ranked Santiam Wolverines next week, the time to be determined.
Santiam shutout 12th-ranked Reedsport 47-0 Saturday to move to the quarterfinals. The team is 9-1, its only loss coming to No. 1-ranked St. Paul, which is still undefeated after a 46-13 win over Lost River Saturday.
St. Paul will play eighth-ranked Heppner in the quarterfinals, the winner taking on the winner of the Grant Union-Santiam matchup in the semifinals the following week before the championship game Nov. 25.
