June 22, 1976 – April 5, 2018

Shannen was born in Lebanon, Oregon, to Clarence and Donna Kyriss. Shannen is survived by daughter Daeja Hatch of Washington; father, Clarence Kyriss, of Mt. Vernon, Oregon; mother, Donna Kyriss, of John Day, Oregon; brothers Jeremy Lowe of Washington and Gabriel Kyriss of Idaho; and sisters Sondra Kyriss of Lebanon, Oregon, and Jessica Campbell of Lebanon, Oregon.

Shannen grew up on a mink farm in Sweet Home. She attended grade school in Holly and high school in Sweet Home. Shannen also attended Mt. Hood Community College, where she earned a nursing assistant degree.

Shannen met Chuck Hatch and moved to Port Orchard, Washington, where their daughter Daeja was born. Shannen took the responsibility for the care of Chuck’s grandparents until their death.

Shannen moved to Grant County, Oregon, in 2017 and provided assistance for her ailing mother and father. At the time of her death, she lived in Monument, Oregon, and was engaged to Earl Binger.

Shannen had many friends who knew her as a very loving, giving and thoughtful person. Shannen loved quilting, fishing, cooking and serving others.

Service will be held Friday, June 22, at 1 p.m. at Living Word Christian Center, Highway 26, in Mt. Vernon, Oregon.

Aug. 5, 1967 – April 22, 2018

Timothy ‘Tim’ Leland Ashmead, 50, formerly of John Day, passed away April 22 at his home in Redmond, Oregon. Tim was born Aug. 5, 1967, in Heppner, Oregon. Tim graduated from Grant Union High School in 1985. He was in the glass business for most of his adult life, eventually owning his own business for several years. He loved spending time with his kids and watching them in all of their sports activities. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his Jeeps. Tim is survived by his wife, Miaya; sons Kerry, Kasey and Kaiden; daughter Hillary; stepson Allin Rust; brother Kelly; and three granddaughters. Arrangements are under the care of Autumn Funeral Home, 485 NW Larch Ave., Redmond, OR 97756.

Oct. 5, 1931 – May 28, 2018

Robert (Bob) Edward Larkin, 86 of John Day, Oregon, passed away Monday, May 28 at Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City, Oregon. Memorial services will be held June 23, 2018 at United Methodist Church in John Day at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck reception at the John Day Elks Lodge immediately following the service.

Larkin was born in Prairie City, Oregon, to James Richard and Myrtle (Boyer) Larkin, October 5, 1931. He graduated from John Day High School in 1950.

Following high school he drove truck for Welshes Blue Mountain Mills for a year, then joined the Navy Seabees for 4 years during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Returning home he drove truck for Hudspeth Lumber Company, before becoming owner of the Richfield Oil Service Station and Oil Distributor of John Day and Burns from 1956 to 1996. He was a contract petroleum tanker distributor and owner of RV Storage from 1978 to 2008 when he ended his 52 year business career.

Larkin was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club Past President and member of Benevolent Order of Elks for 60 years, including Trustee for four years.

He enjoyed dancing and attending jazz festivals, hunting and fishing and traveling, having gone to many places including Hawaii, Alaska and Scotland. He liked joining his family every year for the Dayville 4th of July parade. He enjoyed a glass of wine most days and always said it was 5:00 some place.

Larkin is survived by his wife of 19 years, Isa Larkin and Maggie (their dog) of John Day, step-son Jim (Wendy) Wham of The Dalles and their son James, grandchildren Colby Donnelly (Nicki) and their daughter Lilly of Corvallis and Christopher Donnelly of Crooked River Ranch, sister Ruth Kelsey of Auburn, California, half-sisters Viola Jones of Auburn, California and Nancy Jackson of Orangevale, California, half-brothers Jim (Ann) Larkin of Lakewood, Colorado, Barney Larkin of John Day, Larry Larkin of Prineville, John (Dianne) Larkin of Lincoln City, step-children Steve Wilson of Palmdale, California, Sheila and Sherril (Cliff) of Oregon City; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma (Amis) Larkin of 37 years, daughter Lori Kay Larkin, brothers Richard Larkin and Gene Larkin, sister Frances, and step-daughters Cheril Aury and Donna Walters.

Billy “Buddy” Iven Warren passed away Feb. 2. A burial and memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. June 16 at the Prairie City Cemetery.
