Grant Union volleyball team moves on to state semifinal round

The Grant Union Prospector volleyball team has downed the Coquille Red Devils 3-0 in close sets at the OSAA State Volleyball Championship quarterfinals.

Grant Union won with scores of 27-25, 25-21 and 27-25 at Ridgeview High School in Redmond.

The Prospectors, ranked No. 2 among OSAA 2A teams, will face the No. 3 Central Linn Cobras at 8:30 p.m. at tonight’s semifinal round.

Central Linn beat No. 6 Oakridge with scores of 25-23, 25-13 and 25-14 today.

No. 1 Kennedy will face No. 4 Portland Christian tonight at 8:30 p.m.

The championship match is set for 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
