Meeting at the mound

Grant Union/Prairie City’s softball team advanced to the third round of the playoffs Thursday with a 14-4 win over North Douglas.

Jaydika Anderson hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first while Riley Robertson and Halle Parsons followed up with home runs later on in the game.

Harli Grove hit well in the gaps, and Drewsey Williams pitched another solid game.

The Lady Pros will face Colton in the semi-finals Saturday at Redmond High School at 11 a.m.

If the girls win, they will play the Union and Kennedy game-winner that starts at 5 p.m on Saturday for the championship. If they lose, they will play the loser of Kennedy and Union at 3 p.m. for third place.
