JOHN DAY — Ibra Taher, one of six candidates seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Ron Wyden, D-Oregon, will make a campaign stop in John Day this month.
Taher will be at the John Day Fire Hall, 316 S. Canyon Blvd., from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 27 to meet with local residents and discuss his campaign.
A self-employed philosophy teacher from Eugene, Taher ran for Oregon’s other U.S. Senate seat in 2022 as the nominee of the Pacific Green and Progressive parties. He finished last in the four-way race, which was won by incumbent Democrat Jeff Merkley.
