I recently needed to visit our courthouse in Canyon City. After taking care of my business with several very pleasant ladies, small talk and pleasantries were exchanged. I happened to notice a broken window. I was informed that it had been broken since the 1990s. WHAT! How could that be?
After talking with several folks in the know, I find that some if not all heating units do not work when needed, plus the is no AC in the upstairs offices. Not too sure about the downstairs … I forgot to ask. Really.
Why is this allowed to happen? What about the rest of the building? The roof? Plumbing? Are the people in charge going to wait for the building to collapse before basic repairs and upkeep are implemented? By the way, just who is in charge of the government building? Who isn’t doing their jobs? Where is the money going that is supposed to take care of these issues?

I feel that these are major issues that need to be addressed before we are asked to build an entirely new building.
