Letter: A child speaks out on pool

To the Editor:

The other day my family went swimming at a pool in Baker City. We had to do some skills tests to swim in the deep end. I turned it into a race and beat all of the boys. I passed the test — thanks, swim lessons.

My younger sister didn’t attempt, she lacks the skills and confidence. When I was her age I could swim. She is missing two years of swim lessons. We need a pool for kids to get skills and the pool is fun. And I want to be on the swim team!
