In case you missed it, last week’s edition featured an update on the arrest of a Forest Service burn boss for reckless burning by the Grant County sheriff in the midst of a prescribed burn that jumped the lines. Based on the sheriff’s sworn affidavit, we were able to report that the sheriff himself was threatened with arrest for interfering with a federal officer.
Other highlights of last week’s paper included a story on Tyler Smith’s acquittal and another on a state ethics investigation of a John Day city councilor.
