JOHN DAY — It took him nearly a month to get here, but Grant County’s first baby of 2023 has arrived.

His name is Kingston Allen Moore, and he came into the world at 3:58 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Blue Mountain Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 18½ inches, the hospital announced.

Kingston is the son of Lori Moodie-Cotta and Ethan Moore.

The new parents received a gift basket filled with baby items; a free newborn photo session; gift certificates from Chester’s Market, A Flower Shop and More, and Old West Federal Credit Union; Grant County Greenbacks from the Grant County Chamber of Commerce; and gifts from the Blue Mountain Hospital Auxiliary.

The family was scheduled to be discharged from the hospital on Friday, Jan. 27.
