Clemson was named among the strong top 8 schools for 4-star offensive lineman Casey Poe. The offensive line for the Tigers has not had the most stellar of reputations the last couple of seasons and some have said that’s due to getting out-recruited by other top schools along the front line. Poe, an interior lineman, would be a big get over some of those exact schools fans have been comparing against.

Coming in at 6’5 and 280 pounds out of Lindale, Texas, this promising prospect is also considering the likes of Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Texas Tech, LSU, Baylor, and Auburn. Certainly, a formidable list to be recruiting against. However, back in March Poe made a visit to campus and was left impressed by what he saw. Speaking to AllClemsonTigers.com the 4-star said, “Being my first time on campus, I didn’t know what to expect. Driving in it was a weird experience. We were just traveling and we’re like, where’s the campus and we’re just kind of driving through these backwoods and stuff. Then it’s just kind of like a little slice of heaven opened up and it was a beautiful campus.”

Poe received his offer that day and said, “To get that offer was it was really big. It was cool. It was a great feeling.” Offensive line coach Thomas Austin left his mark as well, “Coach Austin just sat me down, he was like, listen, being able to meet you in person; he loved the way I looked, loved the way I talked and just loved me as a person. He was super excited to extend the offer to me, and he was just hoping that I would definitely keep Clemson mind. Which I definitely will.”

Poe is currently ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the 149th-best player in the country along with being the 10th-best interior offensive lineman in the nation.
